Best Meal Ever…..

In getting into the spirit of the conversation today at the office….. What was the best food you have ever eaten?“I crave the mashed potatoes at the Avi Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada” Paulette sighed. “I have yet to find anything that measures up to it in Indiana.”
Steven never hesitated to talk about rainbow trout that he ate at The Grand Canyon Lodge. For those who love fish he highly recommends it. Vera recommends the Sauerbraten at the Edeliweiss German Restaurant on the south side of Indianapolis. I’d hate to order something I could not even pronounce.
Connie spoke openly, “I love the fried veggies at the Doctor Vegetable vender truck at the Indiana State Fair. I wouldn’t think of going to the fair and NOT eat there. It’s a yearly ritual.”
David spoke up “The best Pulled Pork Sandwich I ever had was at Sarge’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que in Dugger, Indiana.” He sighed. “But sadly the restaurant is closed now. I have yet to find any BBQ like it.”
“Oh the meatloaf at Kountry Kitchen Soul Food in Indianapolis” Suzie spoke up “My grandmother used to love to cook and her meatloaf was good. But nothing compares to the meatloaf at Kountry Kitchen.”
Robin suggests we try the Forest Pie at Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier Park. Well worth the drive she says. Kathy mentions the crawfish bisque she had on the gulf coast. Myra recommends the shepherd’s pie at the British district at Epcot.
“I just love the black berry cobbler at the Hualapai Lodge in Kingman, Arizona.” A short pause from Jill then she continues, “Next time I’m there, I’m starting my meal with desert first.”
Pamela doesn’t hesitate talking about the profiteroles …I can find that recipe in the Martha Stewart Cookbook. I smile at her and say thanks. . …knowing quite well I will NOT be picking up any cookbook on the way home.

My name is JJ. Sarge’s Smoke house was my family’s restaurant in Dugger In.
yes unfortunately we had to close down. Just not enough business in that location. We are still in Sullivan area.
Tell David and anyone else. We still make our Pulled Pork and even jar #2 and #4 sauces. Mostly for family and friends. We’d be happy for that list to grow.
Feel free to contact us anytime.
